In the good old days we used to work hard for a few years, scrape and save our OWN money, then take off for a year or two. Then do it all over again.

Well i guess the begpackers are just practising for when they get home and start looking for free handouts from their respective countries welfare systems

Two things - I don't have a problem with people busking, at least they are working for the money.
However, I know the "work permit," meme.....oh well.
This is a reheat of other articles pubbed recently. It just goes to show how papers like the Daily Mail work.

These beggars seem to have a more wholesome, nice kid next door , straight image . I wouldn't give them any money because they look like dullards.
There is a gang of half a dozen buskers here in HK that rotate around the good spots. They all sound the same noodling over a backing track played through an amp . Hotel Carlifonia and such dross. Fair musicians I might add , saxophone , mandolin, cello, violin ,guitars , but they just kill it .I don't give them any money either.

Talking about man buns and being innovative, I noticed something in Singapore Airport the other night, these guys are wearing mohawks and dolling them up like a bower bird decorating it's nest to attract a mate !

Pick up by another rag Gap yah' backpackers begging for money should be ashamed of themselves Take a walk down Koh San Road in Bangkok and you’ll see people lining the streets asking for money. Only they’re not homeless locals struggling to feed their families; they’re gap yah backpackers who spent their week’s budget on too many drinks in the hostel bar #fail #YOLO. There has been a recent rise in ‘begpackers’ - that’s backpackers who are begging - across some of the poorest countries in the world. Their attempts to fund their trips via begging, busking and occasionally selling their holiday photos have been snapped and shared on social media by more socially aware travellers - and disgusted locals. Most of the begpackers have been spotted in South East Asia, along the well-trodden traveller’s trail of Thailand-Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam and across into Malaysia. One woman from Singapore, Maisarah Abu Samah, was shocked to see two white couples selling postcards and playing music www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/backpackers-begging-money-should-ashamed/

I don't care about the man buns, baggy pants, busking, nose rings or whatever. But learning to depend on handouts to travel, a skill they will no doubt hone for the rest of their miserable lives. Parasites.

^^ The Australian news picked it up as well, forgot to get the link but there was a photo of these two "beggers" with a sign in front of them asking for money to fund their trip, and the sign was propped up with an expensive looking digital SLR camera ! Hope these prix are named and shamed all over social media, one good use for Facebook at least. If I ever saw this pair in the street in Thailand I would enjoy telling them exactly what I thought of them, would even film it and post it on YouTube for a laugh.

Nah !!!! It's revenge to get the money back these begpackers home countries have handed out over the years to the'' developing countries'' and leaving the current generation brassic due to high taxation. Also the prospect of work is frightening so begging become the best alternative. Possibly indicative of how the western world will be in say 100 years time the wheel is turning a full circle.

I now the 30 day stamp ones need 10k in cash.
