Sex capital CHAOS as carnage breaks out for 'Sin City' New Year booze up
NEW year celebrations in the world's sex capital descended into carnage as boozy Brits partied hard in Thailand.
Eight people were shot and a Brit tourist died outside a strip bar during the rowdy three-day long celebrations.
Known as "Sin City", authorities in Pattaya have tried to clamp down on the city's seedy image and growing sex industry.
Around 27,000 prostitutes are thought to operate in the resort's red light district which brings in more than a million men each year.
Officers hoped to tone down this year's celebrations, after cops employed a bizarre tactic to clean up the sex capital's reputation.
Brit Christopher Laidler, 31, died in the early hours of the morning after jumping naked from a third floor window of a room above the Sweetheart Agogo sex club.
Nearby, Nigerian holidaymaker Kennedy Akononu, 35, was filmed shirtless after being smashed over the head with a glass bottle in a fight with hookers and locals.
