No comment, just wondering what most Thai older than 60 think about this 'requirement' "Retirees need at least B4.4m over 20 years Thais should save at least 4.36 million baht when they retire so they can have 16,000 baht to spend every month over the next 20 years. The advice came from Krisada Sektrakul, deputy manager for capital... To be fair, I spent £35,000 last winter so this year is cheap.

I don't understand your need to fly off to Paris biz class for the weekend. Fecking nutcase. It was three days in Amsterdam ya daft bastid. Cost me about £4000, but in return I celebrated my Dad's birthday with him and my Mum. Worth every penny.

I understand why Krisada is only a deputy manager, are these amounts adjusted for inflation ?....if not then already low amounts will be lower, and further under the current "visa rules" one needs THB 65k/m or 800K in the bank So it seems Thai immigration have a better grasp on retiree finances than a deputy manager for a financial company My retirement current plan is as follows Planned out currently until aged 80 very simply = USD 960/week or thb 135k/m, this factors a bit of inflation, medical insurance etc

A couple of pertinent extracts: "When adjusted by inflation at 3% a year on average" "Thais should save" - not foreigners.

Your right didnt read it properly and assumed they also meant farang retirees as well... I shall say a 1000 hail marys, and ride a baht bus with a group of Iranians as pennance for my sins
