The old line was The Hopewell Project, 1998 (also known as ''Bangkok's Stonehenge). The contractor walked away from the job saying that the rampant corruption and backhanders rendered the whole issue unworkable.However counter allegations of bad engineering practices etc flew thick and fast too.

Strangely enough his actions were never challenged by the powers of the day nor was he or the contracting conglomerate ever was taken to court over the comments and the issues.

One does wonder why that was, perhaps the truth would have harmed many of societies top names and families.

I think that case was a separate issue a Highway matter as opposed tho the Hopewell project. The plane as I recall and its impounding was instrumental in obtainig a final settlement due to the claimed owner being a person of influence it certainly caused a stir at that time though.
