Maybe in the big smoke. In these parts they normally retire to the farm.

I am going back forty years ago, when i was a regular in the hospital bar. Yes the bar in the hospital for staff. My then girlfriend, later wife was a radiographer (is). The bar was always full, many drinks flowing and the smoke filled atmosphere of any bar of that era. Not surprising, all had seen too many horrors every day. And no they do not on whole become immune.
Likewise her father a GP, smoking 60 plus Players untipped a day and a regular bottle of wine every evening plus a few shots.
They know the health risks better than any, but take life as it comes.
I doubt bars are permitted in state hospitals now and smoking is banned.

Haha that takes me back buhi!
I've not been in a hospital bar in at least 15 years I would think.

Smoking. Oh the good old days. I went cold turkey a few years back but the smell of passive smoke really brings back fond memories.
