I'm looking for a product that will remove iron/rust deposits from sprinkler heads, this is rust from well water rather than the other kind. I've been using WD40 which does about a 10% job but am at a loss to find any product here in Thailand designed for that job - I'm now thinking an acid rather than an off the shelf product (the like of which are widely available overseas) but which one? The sprinkler heads are made from a mix of pot metal, iron and brass fittings. Any ideas anyone?

Homepro should have something like that. They sell one in Australia that works a treat, CLR it's called, just a mild mix of hydrochloric acid or similar chemical.
All else fails pick up some bicarbonate of soda, Big C, Rimping etc all sell it, mix up a strong brew and soak items in it over night.
* Afterthought ! Maybe buy some battery acid, which is hydrochloric acid, and mix with water *

Many thanks for the idea's - I did try Homepro nearby and they don't have anything on the shelves and asking was fun but not productive!
I'm now trying a vinegar soak, I'll post the results in four hours time.

Yes, if you are anything like me and you told the staff at Homepro you wanted to clean the end of your "nozzle" they would probably send you to the clinic on Loi Kroh !

Lemon juice, or commerical citric acid if you can find it, start off mild before going to strong acids, dont use HCL or H2So4 if you can help it Another option vinager and Bicarb for cleaning stuff

Another thing worth looking at is to just change the shower head, as the avarage shower heads are as cheap as chips in Thailand. www.homepro.co.th/search?q=shower+headObviously if you have a mega expensive shower head, then it would be worth cleaning.

I normally use vinagar and bicarb to clean and them soak in a mixture of warn water and Dettol
