I think it's ideal weather at present. There's nothing I like more than to wake up as dawn is breaking, put on my running gear, walk outside into the cold brisk, invigorating air and start running, back to my nice warm bed.......they say it's the thought that counts. Later, when Mrs CM wakes up she spots my attire and says, "Oh my, you went running this morning, you very brave, wasn't it freezing cold, here, let me warm you up". Mind you, the thermostat in Mrs CM's car is permanently set at 25 degrees, regardless of the outside temperature. This means that when we use her car, I get transportation and a sauna, at the same time.
In different news: I had an accident, I took a hammer to an old table and in the process managed to stand on a rusty nail that went deep into my big toe. Later in the day, I decided a visit to the doctor was in order so for the first time I went to the ER of my local government hospital. This was a novel experience for the hospital, its patients, and for me as we spent much time eyeing each other with great curiosity. The first step was registration, the second step was my BP, 115/63...that's seriously good for me. The first step was a doctor's assessment, the second step was to open the wound and check for debris, last step was to close it, bandage it and give me a tetanus shot. It was all very efficient and very professional, if not a tad painful at first. Later I hobbled out to pay my bill, 179 baht....whoa, I was expecting 6k at least. I've been back every day since to have the dressing changed, well not really, cute nurses are closer to the real reason why but Mrs CM has caught sight of that yet. "you have girlfriend" each one asks (there seems to be a different one every day). No, I reply truthfully! Giggle giggle went the cutest one. When they tell me I don't need to come back anymore, I'm going to wait a week before hammering a nail into my other foot. The curious part of my visits is that my BP is always 115/63, every time it is taken so I peeked over shoulders to see what others were. Oddly, as far as I can see, that hospital has installed a BP calming device in ER that lowers everyone's BP to safe levels because they also were 115/63....it seems to work really well too.
