Of course no beer is spilt. 'Waste not, want not', probably originated in Yorkshire I read, but we Dutch have similar sayings. From colonial times is the saying "tropical years count double" (for government employees, towards their pension rights), so I'm about 85 now I guess. This way getting to be 100 is a piece of cake and I'll eat it Maybe just some relaxed and classy environment

I missed his birthday? I'll bring you some Gouda at Xmas rubl...what's your favourite? Gouda cheese tends to be a bit bland. Try 'leidse' with 'komijn' (cumin), or 'groninger' with 'kruidnagels' (cloves). More taste and very nice with a beer

The 'verouderd' would translate into 'obsolete'. Unfortunately you might be (almost) right Whats a better word for "belated"./ delayed .i thought that was "verouderde"....if i ever go back to in live in SA need to pull my head out my arse and brush up on die taal In Dutch it would be 'verlaat' as in '(too) late', or 'als nog'. The last would suggest you might have forgotten or was wondering if you should offer congratulations.
