I'd say 90% of people don't have a clue what it means. In short, what it means is - ignore the Old Testament. I'm not participating in the Jew thread. Most people don't understand Judaism ( although I think most in this forum do ).
I object to the notion of "Jewish apology." IMO, it's the most poisonous and long-lasting burden on the soul of the Western world.
Jews have nothing to apologize about in connection with Christ. The same people that will demand an apology from modern say Jews would in the next sentence rail against we Brits apologising for slavery, Americans for the genocide of the Native Americans, etc.
It's intellectual Moronism.
No intelligent person can hold both positions at the same time.
And anyone you hear quoting the Old Testament as justification for anything is also a moron. Eye for an eye, etc, are negated by the New Testament.
The New Testament is the word of God delivered by Christ. Hence why people are called Christians. It should be kinda obvious that.

I doubt you'll ever find a comment from me that disagrees with your post. I enjoy your "sky wizard," description of religion. By no stretch am I defending Christianity out with observing a point of fact. The New Testament usurps the Old Testament. The vast majority of the OT was written as the word of man. Very little was written as the word of God. You could narrow it down to the Ten Commandments. I ask no intelligent man to believe. I only ask that they don't promulgate the Jewish book as the word of Christ, That's an absurdity. |

The common understanding is that we are all God's children and if we more or less obey the commandments and live a good life we are saved.
But Scripture teaches that we are born children of wrath and are only saved when we take Christ as our saviour and truly repent. Living a good life will come naturally but if we do not truly repent all the good works we do will be of no avail.

Correct me if I am wrong, surely a christian follows the teachings of christ? The old testament is totally irrelevant, Isnt the gideons who publish bible containing only the new testament? Rgs is correct, as is Blether, that the New Covenant replaces the old, though the Old Covenant is still followed spiritually not physically.
Never knew about the reincarnation beliefs before, must look that up.
