The UK FCO has an information sheet called "Information Relating to Deaths in Thailand". 9 pages long. Quite a useful read. Among other things, that info sheet does talk about the need for a letter of release: www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/512945/Information_Relating_to_Deaths_in_Thailand_March_2016.pdfSo I think that is the stage they are up to. The friend, (Chris Cookson) said they were at this stage and looking to obtain from the embassy At the weekend, before that, a poster called Shunter on TVF said that the Embassy would be looking into it. Would be useful to have the Embassy's input and maybe clear up some of the things going on The embassy has to approve the Next of Kin. The fact that presumably they were not married would not affect that with Australia as they recognise a partnership of either sex who has lived together for two years as such. Otherwise they would have to contact the overseas relative that fits that. The hospital can only release the body to the next of kin. Legally married here sometimes get released without the paperwork but that is not what is supposed to happen. I hope he has made a will. Makes you wonder even if surgery was the right option, or take the medication and hope to last a bit longer before having a heart attack. He seemed to go downhill very quickly from diagnosis to surgery. I thought bypass surgery was common (but obviously dangerous) these days. It just all seems a total mess.

Some long lost cousin in the U.K. picks it up? It just gets messier. Edit. And how many thousands of others are in the same situation?

I'll close this thread if I see any more begging letters.
Cheers.

Interesting to note that since the demise of G B all the video clips appear to have been either cropped or taken by phone. Now Pie used to video his begging vids so why no top end video camera, now, like his bike a mysterious vanishing trick?

I think the recent films especially of his funeral were done by friends of his on their phones then uploaded onto his channel.

Heres a post from freak door.....
He died last Friday, enormous amount of interest on other forums and arguments over this guy. He was 52 and lived in Phuket for about 10 years, seems he never has a job at all but sold time share! Spent (admitted it) over one million baht to join some posh golf club and continued his scams there on bigger fish (it's claimed) caught up with him and he claimed his wife who is still there had a gambling habit that cleaned him out. He was building a house that he put on the market for 8.3 million, the ad is still online.
Then washes up in CR a couple of years or so back with a new wife, (gf) and her son to live on her family farm. oh yeah he had another ex back in the UK and a son, never seems to have sent anything back to support the son. Instead of heading back home and getting a job to support the new family continues with various dodgy online businesses, also has meebal a site that is him mostly slagging off Thais and Thailand, he has to take that down after 5 years. Starts up a sort of daily soap opera vlog on the farm, claims the family live in a shack in the fields which was nonsense as the house in the village is often shown. Plays the sympathy card a bit too often- house has no windows or heating etc and claims it's all done for her son Fam. When the patreon and paypal cash starts to really roll in he lost a lot of fans by putting well over 100k down on a bike which cost about 400k all told using her dads land as guarantee. Plus new glasses, teeth a ludicrously expensive camera and lenses and various other (non farm) equipment. The only thing Fam the kiddie seems to have got was prezzies sent by subscribers.
After being admitted to Hospital, after saying his bad health was due to 40 years smoking, launches another appeal for funds. Claimed having no health insurance was just one of those things and said that he needed surgery costing 600-one million baht. Somebody in the UK offered to pay but Graham only wanted the money put into his own account and would not give the Hospital details or proof, then after 2 days said no thanks he had another donor. First donor rang up the Hospital and was told the bill was going to be 250k. Of course people called scam on this. The ironic thing is if he had booked into a decent Hospital instead of the Govt one, like Bangkok Hospital in CM, he might have made it. The triple by pass he had has over 90% success rate, 94 I believe. It's just under 700k at Bumrungrad!
People either love him for his plucky vlogs or see him as a scammer and an irresponsible liar. Seems although he claimed all the cash went into his gf Pies accounts it did not and she cannot access money in his accounts. Personally I think he is the type that Thailand can really do without, well they will now of course. Hopefully his gf will get something out of it all and be able to pay off the bike and buy the kid a bed at last, his real wife will probably have claim to money in his accounts.
Funeral is tommorrow other vloggers going who never even met the guy, I must say I have gone off this vlogging crowd

Someone on that thread suggested sneaking into the funeral with a crowbar and popping the lid.
