I'm not allowed to post on a certain social media platform for 30 days, it would seem I have upset some delicate flowers political sensibilities. I was thinking: Whether it's left or right, liberal or conservative people are way too sensitive and easily upset these days. Thoughts? I can't remember a time in my life where folks got upset and unwilling to have a bit of fun and banter, it's pretty sad really. These snowflake years aren't much fun at all!
This isn't just on social media: everyone is now apparently in a constant state of victimhood and everything is a possible leftwing or rightwing conspiracy.

Maybe the problem started to become more 'obvious' the moment when about everybody and his/her gerbil could just write whatever without feeling 'guilty' or being afraid of consequences. Banter in a pub with friends is nice, but on a public forum with 'online friends' it doesn't work in a similar fashion. As such I don't think people got soft, I think people got more irresponsible. "Full steam ahead and damn the torpedoes" and so

It's been the case for some time that many social media platforms are not interested in truth or fact and any opinion must fit in with those of the mods. If you will insist on swimming against the tide by using fact to counter poorly thought through opinion you will simply never fit in.....now get with the program my lad. Alternatively you could start your own, "victim of social media moderators", support group and be just like everyone else.

To this day I remain absolutely astonished of the censorship in "the other place". People were discussing a topic at one point a while back, I had made a fairly detailed video about said topic, and posted it in the comments. My post was removed because i was "self promoting", even though i had no pattern of this. I can see their point if my video did not specifically address the topic at hand, but it did. I realized at that point, they are not concerned about the quality of the posts at all. Moderation is actually about saving their ass and also stomping down the competition (not that I am competition). What you are essentially left with is a giant pile of crap. The worst part is this is how everything is run now. News stations I feel follow the same pattern. Some rich elites somewhere deciding what we should see or not based on their own interests. Even the debates are completely ridiculous; why on earth would we not hold our US debates in a somewhat neutral forum like cspan, which is a non profit channel. This stuff just absolutely astonishes me! How in the world can we hold a debate on a network whose owners are obviously going to be biased toward certain candidates.
Everything is about money and self preservation, and as a result all the content is complete and utter garbage.

I almost coughed up my vegan chicken substitute Armenian wrap until I remembered I had a sausage roll and three pints for lunch. Whew you might say but at least we must wipe our own tears.

Console yourself with the fact, you and your vlogs will still be here long after these other places go the way of Trink and are consigned to the scrapheap of obscurity. Demographics are on your side, as the skint brexit pensioners bitch and moan about exchange rates and the cost of a dial up modem, the world moves on, facebook is where it is at these days. Prime example, www.facebook.com/groups/1395920320731833/

I'm of the opinion that you should only write what you are prepared to say to someone in his face. That's under the assumption that normally you're not literally spoiled for a fight or looking to start a fistfight or punch-up.

Does Trink no longer do book reviews for the Post then? Do not see it every day so would not notice.
I think one day someone will do an article on his previous "columns", probably another 'Merican, on the lines of "Holy Shit, he put all this in a serious, mainstream newspaper every week and they published it?".

We are gonna have to sit down one day and have one of you guys give me the very short version of what brexit actually is, being the dense american and all i gotta play the part. I think i know the gist of it but the details completely elude me. Here's the high level view in a nutshell. Brexit is how Great Britain (that's England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) will exit the European (EU) common market. Why did we join in the first place? - Because at the time (1970's) it made sense for us to become part of a single trade zone that was right on our doorstep (Europe), a single or common set of rules for the entire market, economies of scale, centralized administration and dispute resolution, a common payments system, no import export controls....imagine trying to be a very small market on the edge of a very very large market that everyone went to. So what changed and why do we now want leave? - The committee that controls the market (the EU Parliament) slowly took on powers that became too controlling and ambitious for our liking and went way beyond just a common set of trade rules, we were being dictated to on an increasing number of different fronts and risked losing our independence and sovereignty. The trend by Europe was to create a single federalist state with its own army and a single central parliament and we don't want to be a part of that, our government wrote: " This deal (Brexit) takes back control of our borders, our laws and our money, and protects our economy, our security, and our United Kingdom". assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/759792/28_November_EU_Exit_-_Taking_back_control_of_our_borders__money_and_laws_while_protecting_our_economy__security_and_Union__1_.pdf

I used to really enjoy reading his Friday column, it's hard to believe in this day and age that they really existed, shows just how much the country has changed.
