Stick yer plant up yer ass, my mother in law is brilliant, old skool, if she was in the UK she would be reported for racist and offensive language, social services would be called in, too be honest, she is beyond redemption, a dinosaur, a relic of a bygone era, i get on with her like a house on fire, the mrs hates the language old Mat teaches me, would make a sailor blush, sentances littered with meungs and ees and ais, usually ending in chip hai. Rock up round my gaffe anytime, even the bang kaew dog is shit scared of Mat. Relics of bygone eras usually fit in very well on here rgs. Not a yid supporter is she? Otherwise I see you had a productive hour at the tolerance and diversity course. Also applies to your next post. Is it too late to take that xanax? I think she is a brexit supporter, the way she goes on about some long lost golden era in bygone days of yore, that exists in her head only, don’t get her fired up on her favorite subject, lazy Thai men, woe betide you if you work in an office, real men don’t work in offices, that’s for women only. What a trooper, it’s a laugh a minute with her, what p**ses my mrs off is, I only encourage it and egg mat on to launch into another tirade, in between smoking and ranting on, it’s a wonder she has time to draw breath.

Ah Grandma, bless her.
Like most other people my age I used to read Giles in the Express when I was growing up, he was something of a hero to me. Later in life my neighbour and dear friend was Peter Tory who also worked at the Express. I forget the exact year, 93 or so I think, but Peter was contracted to write a series of books about Giles who lived in Suffolk at the time, his first as I recall was Giles Family and the second was Giles at War. After hearing so much about the first book and seeing bits and pieces of it before it went to print, I was excited at finally getting to meet Giles in person when he visited. He was very old by that time but his memory was still strong, especially about his time as a reporter for the Express when Bergen Belson was liberated. The events of that period remained with him forever and he ended up being buried there. I was always amazed that he could manage to write such hilarious cartoons about the war, despite those memories, I guess we all have different coping mechanisms. Anyway, lovely people both, Giles and Peter Tory, RIP both.

I read the forecast for the Pound is looking good, there's a lot of talk of it settling around $1.45.

I read the forecast for the Pound is looking good, there's a lot of talk of it settling around $1.45. That would be pre-brexit referendum level. Since the World's economies and their 'drivers' have changed. Current level about 1.2942. A nasty election campaign and rumours of a hard brexit per the first of January and the movement may be downwards again. A mixed result same effect. BoJo's marvelous Withdrawal Agreement turned into law and a (Farage disapproved) brexit and upward movement? Next we have Donald 'no longer mr. nice guy' Trump with his fake news and 'get rid of him' campaign. The very imminent any moment now USA-China Trade Agreement for a strong $$. A strong $$ of course leads to a trade gap and an increase of the deficit. That should make the $$ weaker but it being a safe haven ... One of these days I'll buy batteries for my Crystal Ball. I should be able to tell you more then PS 1 GBP +/- 39.03 THB at this moment

Never heard of 'Giles at War' or met the family. So looked it up. Remind me of the times ages ago when I was young. I used to cut the cartoons out of the newspapers and magazines and collect them "The Giles family is a fictional British family created by cartoonist Carl Giles at the end of World War II, appearing first on 5 August 1945.[1] Much of Giles's World War II work had been cartoons featuring Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and the typical British Tommy, but he felt the need to expand after the War, hence the family. The format was a single-panel cartoon, published daily in the Daily Express and Sunday Express newspapers from 1945 until 1991. An annual collection was published each Christmas." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giles_family
