The queue is in the 'on the worst day so far'. Mind you I agree paranoia doesn't help. A bit of common sense helps more. Still it's not ridiculed and needs appropriate attention.

Let's bring some perspective to the corona virus issue and calm the mass hysteria down a bit please.  Did you have to remind me about the snakes and mosquitos in my little village in Australia, and a million other things that can kill me? |

I had a cardiac stent installed about ten years ago, the surgeon said the risk associated with that procedure was 4%, I remember I breathed a sigh of relief and said I liked those odds. That being true why am I not comfortable with 2% in the case of the flu.

Problem is it isn't just us at risk. It is also your partner, kids, siblings, parents.....
I'm guessing sadly that eventually everyone will be affected one way or the other.

Even if no-one in my family dies I still don't like the idea of watching anyone lie in a hospital bed with hoses hanging out knocking on deaths door for 6 weeks.

Last year Moslem terrorists murdered 10,409 people. The virus has a bit of catching up to do if it's really to be considered a dangerous threat. The usual anti Moslem hate spreading. I didn't hear anything when a far-right terrorist killed 11 in Hanau, Germany. That included his own mother and himself. The silence here was deafening. And, quite frankly, I can understand why some people are driving to despise Moslem immigrants who are ruining their towns and murdering the native peoples. Understand, but not condone. In the case of Germany, the people have extra cause to be peeved: they were lied to, having been told that the Gastarbeiter would leave. Of course, the true target of hate should be the politicians and bureaucrats who allowed the scum of the earth to enter their countries and stay, and are making only token efforts to get rid of them. |

But if in America it's a near daily occurrance with a total of 23,000 or more death a year, why the emphasise on Muslim terrorists who barely managed 10,409? Anyway if you're into such pseudo science, the corona virus manages 3000 in two months, that's 18,000 on a yearly base. Taking into account it started slowly it can easily get to 30,000 or if exponential to 300,000. Luckily the elderly are most vulnarable and since you're no longer economically available and have one foot in the grave anyway, even Priti Patel would agree with me in "not much loss". BTW no need for hate, not even towards politicians. Look in the mirror, you kept voting for those politicians time and time again. |

Well every virus has a good side. I've just been informed that our projected summer school is no more due government order banning all school activities.
I am to sit at home on full pay until the beginning of May.Such a hardship.
