not a particularly big fan of opera, but this is a very powerful and my favourite aria, from Turnadot Yes Puccini knew how to compose a belter. Great stuff, always reminds me of Italy. Thailand has some similarities with Italy, carefree nature, family the core, and food (shall i include mafia and corruption?) Music, it does not have or great art and architecture, one wat is much like another. Each town much the same. Oh now I want to move to Italy! Well we did have Johny O'Keef And I guess that screamer Joan Sutherland.

Only suppose to be posting single tracks I know but, but my next one, the whole album Now that's a spoiler, it was on my list, but the whole album does not quite gel. I was once in trouble for using "We don't need no education," as a dicussion starter with aclass of ten year olds. I won the case and the head backed me. Any way the classic from that album has to be:

For me personally, I would not like to live in a world where I was unable to listen to the Ratpack singing 'Birth of the Blues'
or Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' live
However, the recording that I would miss most and would therefore be my # 1 pick for desert Island Discs would be Sammy Davis Jr & Micheal Silva's version of 'I've got you under my skin'.

This particular track brings back memories of a trip to the colonies to visit some descendants of an old family member who it seems went to Australia on an assisted passage scheme. And,no, it wasn't one of those old 10 pounds passages either. If family history is correct the price of the trip to the colonies was a sheep.

Gary Moore is playing a Gibson, my preferred instrument; watch the switch at the top of the guitar, and how he uses it. Two pickups and the switch controls, one, two or both. A Fender does not have this option, in fact the Stratocaster has only one pickup, bloody difficult to play.

Actually a Strat has 3 pick ups, and the telecaster typically has 2, but there are single pick up versions of telecasters the Gibson gary Moore is playing looks like a 59 Les Paul Standard, but not the famous Peter Green/Gary Moore 59 LP, as that one had no binding around the body, that Guitar sold a few years ago for USD 2.0 million Fender Strat Fender Telecaster The famous Peter Green/Gary Moore 59 LP

Roy Buchanan is using the Fender with one. Well this is better than discussing beer Chang! Cheers!

Your correct a Gibson LP does have two pick ups, usually P90's or similar, Roy Buchanan in your video is playing a telecaster..not sure of the year

Long ago, I have stated I do not play guitar anymore. Did have a single pickup Fender copy, but never liked it; Gibson Les Paul copy was a hit with my useless skills. In fact I rarely played anything other than bass in our stupid group a Burns.
