Again, wishing you well. Frightening stuff and glad you are on the mend. Swimming helps with recovery and strengthening muscles.

She is right there. If you can get to a place with a hydrotherapy pool it will help a lot. And you will feel really good with the water supporting you. I do not know if you are here or there but some hospitals have hydrotherapy pools and physiotherapy classes at a very reasonable cost.

The last 3 months (out of 7 months and 7 days, but who's counting) I spent in rehab was in Tamworth Base Hospital in NSW, they had a big hydro pool but I was not allowed to use it until 2 weeks after my last dose of chemo (because of the risk of infection) back in October. As soon as I started using it my balance and walking improved no end, it was amazing. Before I got in the pool I could not even stand for more than a few seconds and I had to hold on to something but after just a few weeks I was standing for 3 minutes at a time, unassisted. Walking in the parallel bars was so much easier as well. They really are amazing things to get you walking again.

I am in Gunnedah at the moment, about 75km from Tamworth. Have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday over there at Rehab and then will think about getting back to Thailand to see wife and son. My parent's always said if I did not settle down I would end up in rehab.

I am not going to attack the op, for fear of being labeled one of those racists he talks about, but I cannot help wondering why the topic was even started. Of course there are racists in Australia, hell, I know some of them and they are both embarrassing and annoying. I often think the world would be better off without them and then everyone would get on and concentrate on existing and surviving. Don't see the point in comparing the racism level in Australia to any other country either. No matter how severe it is it is too much. This quote p**sed me off - "There is a tri-state area in the middle of Australia which is a Bermuda triangle for domestic violence against Aboriginal women," said South Australian university lecturer and anthropologist, Professor Peter Sutton." This Professor is one of those educated idiots who makes lots of money by merely stating the obvious. The OP seems to be about how racist Australia is but anecdotes about the violence happening in Aboriginal communities to me is off topic, because most of these offences are usually carried out by their own people. I think this violence is partly due their exposure to alcohol and it is not surprising that there are "dry" communities out there that try to avoid this violence. Stan Grant made a poor choice when he used Adam Goodes as an example of an Aboriginal man being abused and insulted. Goodes was and probably still is a <theduck> with a big chip on his shoulder and people like that in Australia will always cop it, regardless of their skin color or nationality. Anthony Mundine is another example of a dickhead who gives his race a bad name. cmk says his "point is Australia is more racist than America."................So what ? Doubt if his observations and opinions will make it into the text books and I for one don't feel bad about it as I don't regard myself as "one of them". Dont worry, step aside, I will. Maybe if they got off the grog, stopped going walkabout and stayed home and acted as role models for their kids there wouldnt be this problem. Its usually brought on by WHITE, middle class liberal academic types with a guilt conscience, bloody apologists for something that wasnt even of their own making. Racist or realist? For the OP how about putting up some of the domestic abuse figures carried out by the First Nation types, where have we seen all this before, let me guess, Canada, America, oh no, you cant say that, you are a farang, you dont understand.
