If my contract is terminated and my workpermit associated with it also (automatically) and my non-B visum AND I have to leave the country within seven days, may I collect me 50% of 180 days salary in one go ? I promise to pay taxes over it  You have been on the other forum long enough to know visas are not cancelled only extensions of stay.  |

Was drinking with the Somchais this evening, having a laugh and discussing Leicester City etc etc. The highlight of the night was when The Bug Man appeared, the locals were foaming at the mouth (checked, couldnt see a full moon), Duck beaks (no pun intended) 5 baht a pop, Thai viagra 20 baht a bag (some slimy grub looking thing) looked more like maggots. Never mind, had one of my favourites, naem, spicy sour Thai sausage. Voltaire  , Good man. Please do not take the good name of monsieur François-Marie Arouet in vain. |

What's the figure for Thais unable to work due to mental health issues, alcoholism, and ill health? I do not know the figure, but can tell of a few. First post lunch rambling. What with Bleth and his hi so life, on a whim I decided on a French lunch at home, with the aid of Big C, not my favorite establishment, but can provide. Fresh fish, selected and cooked to my requirement, a bottle of French wine (not fruit wine), a warm freshly baked French stick, salad ingredients, which I prepared, pot of fresh coffee, not to mention the French butter. A veritable feast. Unfortunately my step son was around. If anything could ruin a fine lunch he can. My son had placed his lunch request, hot dogs, S&P, agreed if he ate some salad and fresh bread. The step son emerged , beyond me to describe him. Once he was a fairly normal kid. Spent his childhood between us and grandmother; since the latter indulged his every whim, needless to say he spent more time with her. My wife's younger brother is likewise the product of indulgence. Uncle became the mentor into laziness, crime and easy money. We were, are and always will be far ends of the human spectrum. I may have had my wild moments on the "wild side", be they my younger adult years in Birmingham, or the later closer years in Bangkok. One thing I learnt very early in life is do not mess with drugs. Recreational, ok, but never the hard stuff and that includes LSD. Amphetamines, never. Uncle Beart was a yah bah dealer and addict. Taught his trade to step son. Good move on his part, get the naive idiot to do the dirty work, dealing and he kept himself as clean as the (driven snow) Step son was sacrificed to save the real dealers. Addicted and banished from our home. Set up by loving uncle and sent to the Hilton. Pleaded with his mother to help. With me in effect. Got him transferred to Buri Ram prison, smaller, less crowded, but equally awful.That was as much as we would do. Well food parcels etc. The drugs were available in prison and no doubt our gifts helped his supply. TIT. The result a cabbage that exists now. His brain is wrecked; when here and not in psychiatric hospital (Bedlam) he is tranquilized into a state resembling someone after a night on Jamesons'(sick joke). He is an absolute moron. Uncle, a brain aneurysm, paralysed, slurred speech worthy of a night of Jameson drinking. Neither will ever work, never did. The step son of course is my responsibility, my blame, nothing to do with grandmother or uncle. TIT. Yai and I spit eyes at each other. Father in law, a friend who has been known to sit with his head bowed in despair. We share the bond. Good lunch though, despite the moron hovering. Bought him some KFC. |
