Inspired by Trevor's epic train journeys - if tourists were going to your home country or town, what are 3 things you would recommend they do or see ?
My 3
The V&A
up and down the Mountain
Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

If you are passing through let me know and I will meet you on the corner. Literally, there is only one corner.

Well here's four links to my home town it hasn't changed to dramatically in the last 35 years. The clips invokes a wonderful flood of memories when watching them, very poignant regarding times and sadly people passed on too.
The second bit is my towns yearly 15 minutes of fame and I certainly can recall watching the event many times.I have chosen an old clip in memmory of people I knew as did my family, again sadly the the majority of those seen have all relocated to new cosmic addresses. The clip is around 40+ years old and yes I knew many of those runners and the vicar, Canon (boom boom) Collins, ex Naval Chaplain and high church too
Clip three is very special to me, composed by one of our better known earlier residents and a tune that is known world wide, even now it moves me to tears wherever I hear it.
Clip four is there as I feel it conveys all the emotions one has when you hear the tune, no barriers and a wealth of deep respect and feeling.

In the US the choices are almost endless covering from Hawaii to Alaska to Cape Cod to Florida....Not thinking about Canada & Mexico...
That's one reason not very many get out & explore the world.....You could literally spend 4-5 years just taking in some of the sights.....If you are lucky enough to get a (rare) months vacation a year and use it gor travel & after 48-60 vacations not see it all - yet still be working hard in your travelling.....
Vast and varied....

Vast and varied.... ah but that wasn't the question - you need to pick 3 you would suggest people to do or see, which you know first hand

Correct me if I am wrong Re the first clip....Is that a Sheep I see in Wellington boots and pink ones at that ?.... all perverts in Olney ?

The abbey is worth a wander around....its where the declaration of independence was written back in 1320. Ice rink in the winter....boating pond in the summer....oh and you can take the kids sledging down the hill too. s3.amazonaws.com/ldc/large/2287/22876686.jpgSome of the best fish suppers I've eaten have come from this shop...nuff said!

Some ideas, or you can just go and get p**sed up on Prince of Wale's Road In my time in Norwich you could get p**sed on any street corner as there was a pub there. More pubs than any other city at the time. I had a house in the older part of Norwich, close to the centre, there was a pub on the corner, one around the corner another at the end of the road, 200 hundred yards away and at least twenty within five minutes walking distance. I was a local at the 200 yards one, a star darts player in the team. Well, got to brag sometimes. It was also the hangout of many UEA lecturers, friends of mine and a place of some very serious conversations. Bit like Mango.
