I've never monetized any of my videos, throwing away thousands and thousands of pennies every year.
The primary reason I've never done this is that I like to use copyrighted material, which earns me nothing, so what's the point?
Of course, we 'old timers' (I've been here 4 years... can I make that claim yet?) see the content of these millennials and their "thank you, Thailand..." material as obnoxious and pretentious. What else would we think?

What else would we think? Laid against we "old timers," who have been aware of 8 Miles for five years, no you can't make that claim yet. Almost all of us remember when they "burst," onto the scene, and while some of their videos are clever, the majority are undone by the vomit-inducing stupidity of this commentary. I remember one particular video shot along the excellent Mae Hong Son loop. It consisted of about 50 cutaways of these two and their pals riding their bikes. Laughable - even their biggest fans put the boot in. All the camera trickery in the world can't make up for the lack of good content. A lesson they have refused to take on board for half a decade.

Just as a matter of interest, despite what I read elsewhere about these digital pikeys making $$$ per day. What would your average pikey be making in $ terms per month? Realistically, less than $250 a month. There will be many making less than $50. My "pikey, " income runs between $500 to $1500 a month. I haven't pubbed a book in 17 months, I can't be bothered. I have four in the works that will turn $1000 a month for a while. Truthfully, again, I can't be bothered. I make too much money from my own company. The bank manager near fainted yesterday when I delivered my cash bonus. You're like me. wages are great - even better when you don't need to touch themDo what you do because you enjoy it, if you can make a few bob at the same time, its a bonus. Years ago I used to do music editing, ripping sound waves from VHS cassette tapes etc etc, converting formats, I did it because I enjoyed it. I would only do the music I liked and concerts I wanted. Try decoding a 3.5 hours Led Zepp sound wav that comes as one long file, its a labour of love, I enjoyed it, payment was a bonus. People coming to the house wanting me to decode a Janet Jackson video, no chance, unless the pay was right. Got a shit load of Bob Dylan bootlegs in the house buhi can have for free, muct be at least 50 different concerts, not my cuppa tea, they are sat there gathering dust.

I've done the Mae Hong Son Loop... It got me addicted to motorcycle touring. There's a playlist that I invite you to visit.
