Some years ago in Australia all pubs had to have a public bar. It was generally the cheapest price and had the lowest levelof facilities and it was when men went after work, often in their work gear to discuss world events with their friends. It was a place where the language could be fruity and sometimes physical though this was controlled by the barkeeper who would tell miscreants "You F. B....s will be out of here if you do not F. well stop F...ing around.. Women were not allowed. They were allowed in other parts of the hotel and even though prices were generally higher they werre often reduced to public bar prices for women.
Came a time that was good enough ...women had to be admitted to public bars. Fine....but then they insisted on dress improvements so that working class men could not go in in their singlets. A little later language so that the poor gentle ladies would not be offended by it. It ended the public bar.
It is the same in many workplaces. A women enters and everyone's behavior has to change to suit the ladies. Men do not go into a ladies hairdresser and insist that the barber does not ask after the haircut...."And will you be needing anything more for the weekend Sir."
Sorry ladies I will accept you as my equal when you accept me as yours and do not try to impose your standards on all.
