Only if your a shit photographer. Rule #1 Know your gear inside out Eule #2 Understand light, its rule #1 but if you don't know your gear... Are you for real? Is there a pro photographer who doesn't know his gear, who never heard of Ansel Adams and the Zone System? What are some of the most famous photos ever taken? Like the Afghan girl, for example. Do you think that photographer arrived on the scene with one roll of film? How about war-time photojournalists of yore, think they go out in the field with one roll of film? No, they ship kilos of film canisters to their photo studios back home on a regular basis. The editors select the best of them - which is nothing more than a short list - then choose the best one, given it's not a photo essay. And best of all, nature photography. Those guys hind out in blinds waiting for days, weeks. months for a top shot. Do you think any photos were taken during that time except for the one or two you see in NatGeo? If you want to up your post count why not post smilies on threads? The Afghan Girl by Steve McCurry was just a one off if it wasn't for her striking eyes the shot wouldn't be what it is. Same with Nick Ut's Vietnamese burning girl, at least his photo actually saved her life, after his crew driven her to the hospital only to be told there is a queue and she couldn't be treated, until he threatened the staff that he'd report it to the NY Times who he was shooting for at the time. Heres Steve shooting the last ever roll of Kodachrome made, the same film he took that iconic picture with, 24 shots in 1 roll. Note his observation on the light, framing and subject. Thats what makes him a good photographer. If you see a similar none moving subject now with a digital camera do you fire 11 frames a second untill your buffer is full and just hope you got 1 shot, or do you analyse the light and your shooting postion, framing etc...or just spray and pray like a paparazzi? As for smilies there is a shortage here just like imnottrollinghonest stated and I agree with him, it needs to be adressed but is irrelevant in this topic. Why do I need to use smilies? Also |

No need for google in this instance kidefl, it's all old news. I'm surprised you didn't pick up my 24 exposure mistake, if I had googledit, that error would not have occured.
