I once got a pace-stick applied to the crown of my head for calling a Platoon Sergeant 'Corporal' during basic training. A crazy lady I knew in Australia had to go to court and she was very nervous, asked before she went in how she should address the judge. Got so flustered in court she called the judge "Your Majesty". Apparently even the beak got a laugh out of that one.

Of that maths genius thank goodness I was not his class teacher. He was/is a text book genius. Very eccentric and oblivious to all around him. His class teacher of the time recounted to us all how he lost his cool and cool he was, but not quite as cool as me. "I was explaining how to multiply fractions when he interrupted, can we skip the preamble and get to the point. I am teaching the class not you!" Very funny, but I taught that kid. No I did not, I taught him nothing of maths, he was far advanced of me. Perhaps I might of taught him to be a little humble and thank the gods he was so blessed. And that is where Thai education fails big time. No place for a genius.

I prefer Feathery Blether. You need the "a la' bit to make it sound French and sophisticated. You need the "a la' bit to make it sound F@*#h and sophisticated. Please Blether, there are military matters being discussed in this thread, so the 'F' word should not be used.

I once got a pace-stick applied to the crown of my head for calling a Platoon Sergeant 'Corporal' during basic training. Basic training could be traumatic. The worst I saw ( worse than guys breaking legs etc ) was the Northern Irish guy that wouldn't give up, and when we removed his boots his entire heel skin pad came off exposing the bone. And the man was devastated to be told he had to go home via the hospital. This is/was a real man. A man who had joined the British Army at the height of The Troubles knowing the risk that put him under. It puts into context some of these effin class-one wallopers running about the place talking about "my Daddy."

In answer Smokes, there is no such thing as a 'Royal Sergeant Major'. calling an RSM anything different from WO1, Sir or Regimental Sergeant Major' faux pas and a total insult to the RSM in question. Calling the RSM a Sergeant Major (WO2) would equally be a big insult. Surely only a fookwit would make this mistake? Well that explains it 100% for me. The fookwit keeps sending me messages on the Archa appreciation site....I might have to block him soon. RSM fookwit ffs what a total plonker. We had another name for the RSM

It has been a tough day. Walking through memories I thought buried. A heart to heart with my wife. And she gave some truths, which I welcomed, much to her surprise. "You think those women. I know you have had cared about you?" "Sure I know they did not, only money and you, money?" Truth at last. At first yes, but then we grew together or words similar. "You messed with me by your disappearances(am using the liberty of translation)and I stayed with you. What more can be said.

Actually, the last fling was more than that. I tell you, not my wife. I have written about it on here. She took me home and took no money.I offered, but she refused and we said good bye.
