I dont know how ID cards are going to put an end to the 18 years old Fatimas of the world returning from a family holiday overseas and trying to import her 47 year old roti selling husband into the UK. Will id cards prevent polish whores from entering into sham marriages which cost the mainly asian husbands 6,000 quid a pop from taking place? Google Sham marriages UK for details. Yes the system may not be perfect, but to me its a dammed site better than the shambles we had before. Yes , because they aren't given out willy nilly . One must apply, and meet requirements, through the government agencies. This system works very well here in HK. Without an ID card you cannot enter into the work force or use the system. In that case, I agree with both of you. I have carried some sort of ID all my working life and have no problem with it. No doubt the effin Cheerie Blairs of the world would, and would be whinging on about human rights and degrading people. |

Do you have any evidence for this mythical quota? Politicians have for years talked about limiting immigration, but it simply doesn't happen. To me that suggests "no quota". Immigration in the form of economic migrants from the Islamic hell-holes of the earth appears unfettered; immigration from the poverty-stricken parts of Europe is unfettered; bringing in one's loved one from somewhere outside Europe is, to put it mildly, challenging. ................"Immigration in the form of economic migrants from the Islamic hell-holes of the earth appears unfettered".................. Well I did some research into the UK immigration figures and it does not agree with your opinion.You may be shocked to know the true numbers, not the imaginary ones floating around in your head. You remind me of Trump and his insane idea that people are just "walking in" to the country with little or no background checks etc.  , if thats the case, gawd help us, the UK immi system is such a mess its doubtful if anyone actually knows the true numbers. Thank you lucky stars Australia implemnted a points based system, The Thais have something similair. We in the UK were force fed a diet of Brussels LaLa land rhetoric. Ergo, the rise of UKIP and Brexit. Can someone please tell me exactly what these Somallian refugees I see wandering around the streets of the UK actually contribute to the country, and when will they be going home? |

Why are these so called refugees at such places as The Jungle in Calias so desperate to get to the UK? They have already transited through at least 2 if not 3 countries, why not claim asylum in those countries? |

^ Somalis ? Don't know about the UK but in Australia they usually end up working as security guards. We had one on night shift at a steel mill I was working at in Brisbane years ago. He used to sit in the little guard house, more like an overgrown dog house, just inside the main entrance to the mill. Sign out front said if the guard is on duty you are supposed to stop and let him know who you are, if not just drive in. Trouble was, he used to sit in there with the lights out (because they attracted the bugs) and nobody could see him in there so they just drove straight in. He ended up complaining to head office, who made him turn the lights on.  |

Eff me it was like walking into The Black Hole Of Calcutta, Bin Bags to the right, Gents to the left, kids running wild, chicken bones tossed on the floor, what a EFFIN DUMP, resembled some sort of refugee drop in centre, just remembered, the smoking, despite the no smoking signs. Even the Polish girl behind the counter was shaking her head in dismay. Worst meal I have ever had in my life. |

That's what you get for eating crap like KFC. You should be going a bit more up-market, looking for better quality people to share your dining experience with, not dodging used needles in a chicken- skin smelling crack house.  And most of our scummy migrants go to Sydney and Melbourne, two places best avoided if one ever visits Oz. |
