Family aside, the majority of my closest friends are foreigners/expats. I have a handful of close Thai friends. So most likely its down to the company people keep  On the whole I'd say expats make my life here more enjoyable, but there are definitely some real weirdos. That said I don't think either Thais or expats have a monopoly on weird folk, and unfortunately Darwinism isn't as efficient as it could be |

Add to that list the Thaipats....You know the ones walking around looking like vagabond beggars....With their dirty looking fishermans pants - loose fitting hippyish flowing shirts & their regulation northern style rough sewed purse hanging off their limp shoulder..... usually walking everywhere with a smug - blank bland clueless stare - seemingly always uncut unkempt hair and 1/2 of a growth of beard....they don't exactly look sleazy but they certainly don't look clean......and they seem to think they are at the height of blending in culturally......

Nah, I'm always open to meet new people out here and help if they need it within reason. No time for drunks, folks who think it should be like it is back home, folks who feel that they are hard done by at every turn, backpacker 'teachers', the emotionally inept oh...that's quite a list, I'll stop

I don't even mind apologists to a certain degree, but when they get to the 'I am more Thai than you' stage something has gone awry. The other type is religious nutters. Somebody else's beliefs are none of my business .... but forming prayer circles in the Nana Hotel car park is, quite frankly, odd. Wouldn't that depend a bit on what was prayed for |

You missed out the bit about, the elephant hair wrist band, the sak yant tattoo and the manky dreadlocks hairstlye soap dodgers the lot of them, blank bland clueless stare because they are stoned. |

Totally unrelated, the poll shows 15 votes out of 15 voters. Isn't that a bit redundant, or would "No" be counted as another voter, but no vote?
