Only done it twice, my first job after school was stacking the shelves for Waitrose during the night. Enjoyed it and made some lifelong friends. Also worked briefly for Amazon and it was miserable. Half way through one shit I noticed an open door so did a runner over the hills and far away 555 Where have you been? Working nights? |

On topic, you work and fulfill the demands. When young you sure can. Night, day, who cares. Theatre days we just crashed out, my favourite was the velvet curtains There were days i never came home and then only for a few hours in the daytime. Then you decide and make the possibly wrong choice. It is not night or day, it is being. To be honest I hate it but I get paid fortunes for it so wtf. |

Amsterdam is the ideal place to get over jet lag. Will be stopping over for years to come Off the plane and an icy cold beer and spliff in hand in about an hour or so.Norwich can bloody wait |

I always enjoyed those early turn taking duty at 02-00 hour or 03-00 hrs. It meant we were going door knocking mob handed to collect a few neer do wells before the old alarm clock went off.
Bonus for the local jobbing builders as they got some extra work in replacing doors, windows, all sorts of things repairing property damaged by a mob of hairy plods rambling around unfamiliar abodes in semi darkness.
Great sight to see solicitors staggering into a nick at around 04-00 hrs too, made the buggers earn their shekels and no tea and biscuits on offer from the nick canteen either Happy days.

Head in about 4 pm in the afternoon, eff about for a couple of hours, then about 6 pm, head to the snooker room, play snooker til about 9 pm, then head to the local boozer. Drink about eight or ten pints, then head back, sleep it off on the back of mail sacks til about 6 in the morning, then head downstairs for a fry up., punch the clock about 7 in the morning. No wonder it was privatised. |
