And now..... The real men of rugby. Reminds me of Singapore. The enemy opponent comes from the back, Wales, Scotland, a bit further Ireland

And any time that you want to try to take the crown from the existing champs you are welcome to try. Thing is TtfT you can bet your bottom dollar that will be the game were they actually come to the party and put in a shift . They always do, because it's against the old enemy. Cheered on by their number one fan of course, old horse features herself, Princess Anne. TBH I'm only trolling, can't stand (or understand) Ruggers. Every time that there is a game on in the bar I'm drinking in I have to get someone to explain to me (again) the difference between Union and League. I do enjoy drinking with Rugger players/fans, they have some great songs and will sing them for the slightest reason.

They should just give them all a ball. It will stop them chasing each other.

Aye - eh - I forgot to mention - I flew to Rio De Janeiro on Monday. It's in Brazil if you didn't know.
I'm keeping a low profile for a couple of days - the carnival starts on Friday and I want to be fit for it.

How about something we can relate to like the best pub, average price of a pint, cheapest pint? £4.50 a pint seems to be the average, seems fine to me. There's an unbelievable amount of young Far Eastern women here. Multiple thousands of them. To be fair, it is tourist London - it's a magnet. 4.50 a pint? The whole world is now given to avarice. Looks like I am stuck in Nakhon Sawan where 620 ml of Leo usually can be got for 75 baht, served to the table and free ice if you so wish. Smokie seems to be on the right track. 6 years ago I could get a pint of Sam Smiths mild for 1.85 at two places in Sarf London. One consolation for being there I suppose. Apologies again to the well-heeled on here for raising the subject of cost. So what is the score at the Crowbar? New owner, new style of place? Or gone for good? Any news on the Queen Vic in Soi 23? Bit late with this I realse but needed to get it done now so that we can give Brazil our undivided attention.

Queen Vic is now an Irish pub with decent Happy Hour as has the Crossbar from 4-7 at 120 Baht a pint.
No real change except the Irish pub has better staff now.
The Thai food in the Crossbar is good these days.

Going from his recent contributions the nearest he will get to a Cathedral will be to stand outside with a sandwich board proclaiming:- "No Peace With Rome" and "Bible Yes - Pope No" Whilst ambidextrously distributing leaflets condemning both the bacchanalian Carnival and the pagan (papist connverted) Lent. Following this his re-commitment to Sobriety and Chastity would follow naturally. Would that others on here would do likewise. Now my original point was........? Anyway what is the price of a pint (500 ml) in Rio.?? Average sort of caff/boozer.

Good lord man, I was under the (mistaken) impression you had studied the finer points of this fine sport on the playing fields on Eton. Please allow me to explain, Union is for men, League is for pussies.

Up here in the boonies of Bkk, 3 large Leos with ice served to the table, 200 baht, give a 20 or 50 baht tip to the dek serf and you get a proper wai and khop khun ka, try that in SC or Nana, you would get a scowl and a slur thrown at you. I know people wont believe me, up here in Happyland I can have a night out that costs less than 500 baht, last time I was in Nana they wanted 175 baht for a small Tiger, the eye candy was nothing to write home about, heres one example, some bird dancing on the stage, our eyes met, the first thing she did was put her hands on her stomach to try and hide the hideous looking birth/stretch marks, looked as if someone had poured a kettle of boiling water over her stomach. Not mentioned those horrible looking lesions they have on their arms.

Point of note - I didn't take a vow of chastity.
Just so you know.
What I will say is that I've been disappointed in the general standard of female in Rio. The babes we see promoting beach culture here are few and far between. If I told you I have just spent an hour walking through the main downtown shopping area and only saw one stunning looking women you wouldn't believe me, huh?
Maybe they're all at the beach. Or maybe the travel operators round up the few good looking women there are, put them in bikinis on the beach, and sell us a lie.
In saying that, I haven't been to the samba clubs and nightclubs yet - I'll reserve final judgment until I've braved said places.
