Probably my lack of understanding of this funny language called English but I didn't think him to be a rent boy even hitting people over the head. You might have meant rent-a-boy The Amsterdammers like my pink hotpants.

Failure rates, top 10 defect rates, in flight discrepancy rates, gnd abort rates, attrition factors. Having the ability to think in 3d helps, basic laws of physics, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The terms have changed over the years, the current term is, maintenance management specialist. Forgot to mention if anyone wants to know about such mind blowing subjects as FI (Fatigue Index) let me know.

Previously some teaching and lecturing in IT. Before that a mix including training as a radio tech in the army...working in New Guinea as that then working with the weather bureau for a while till the jobsworth told me I had to go to Townsville for three weeks when I had an exam on. He told me I had to I told him I didn't and walked out the door. After that some teaching dancing then some IT work, some exploration work and some more study and It....all a long distant memory now.

So you're the bloke what makes sure airplanes stay up in the air safely, and the crew and the passengers aren't on a 'Wing and a prayer'.

All this on failure rates and playing games reminds me ... Some aeroplanes had two control units. If one fails, the other takes over. If both fails, it writes the error code into non-volatile memory so it can be retrieved from the wreckage. Now that makes you feel real safe

^^^ you are on the right track uncle, if you want to know about EUMS (engine usage management sytems let me know) The Saudis operated what was called a PLP (paired life policy), they insisted one engine had half the life usage of another, this in their minds was to prevent a double engine failure at the same time. The problem with that policy was, no one told the seagulls, if you got a double bird strike, with one seagull up each intake at the same time. CVR and ADRs , thats a whole other story, effin pilot speak "uncommanded manoeuvre" basically means i pressed the wrong button at the wrong time, but to save face, I deny all knowledge.

Wondering about the 'young' part though Mind you, checking with my friend Ebenezer S. and old Fagin I'm still of the opinion that a rent boy is a boy you sent out to collect the rent. What's next, calling smokie a 'charity boy' ?

Are you one of those that like four burners so you can put two old engines on them which you wouldn't on a twin?
