^^^ you are on the right track uncle, if you want to know about EUMS (engine usage management sytems let me know) The Saudis operated what was called a PLP (paired life policy), they insisted one engine had half the life usage of another, this in their minds was to prevent a double engine failure at the same time. The problem with that policy was, no one told the seagulls, if you got a double bird strike, with one seagull up each intake at the same time. CVR and ADRs , thats a whole other story, effin pilot speak "uncommanded manoeuvre" basically means i pressed the wrong button at the wrong time, but to save face, I deny all knowledge. I always wondered about how 'controlled' a CFIT really is

If anyone wants to know about the entrophy of superheated ammonia vapour please ask. You can have long interesting discussions about refrigeration with Naam if you retire to Pattaya The second I walk offsite work is the last thing on my mind.

I'm in charge of Internet marketing for my flooring and bed company.
I gave away 2/3rd's of my company to ensure that I could travel. I chose lifestyle over chasing money I would never spend.
So far, so good.

Now sit in front of the computer.....read,,,,and play flight simulator. Previously some teaching and lecturing in IT. Before that a mix including training as a radio tech in the army...working in New Guinea as that then working with the weather bureau for a while till the jobsworth told me I had to go to Townsville for three weeks when I had an exam on. He told me I had to I told him I didn't and walked out the door. After that some teaching dancing then some IT work, some exploration work and some more study and It....all a long distant memory now. If I had a choice between Townsville and anything else I would also chose the latter. Townsville makes Isan look like paradise. Are their any websites that stream live air traffic control broadcasts?

The boss was like most Mets at the time ex RAAF and when he said something it went. The job mattered more than my exam. I got p**sed and walked. (he could not have made me go anyway as the exam had Public Service priority and I could have got leave for it. Townsville was not too bad....but I was not popular there as I screwed up the weather radar on a balloon flight by turning the tracking too quick. Ex war surplace navy radars had to be nursed and talked to.

Didn't matter as we were there anyway. I never did know what was in that box and where it ended up. In some paddock I assume.

It was near Canberra and played a very big role in US space missions.

Little hard to understand that as the balloons got very easily up to 10000 ft on their own. Are you sure it was not a research project with the sonde just being parachute dropped but I find it hard to understand as a balloon needs to be tracked by radar to give wins speed and direction. All a basic drop sonde could give is temp which would show an inversion I guess. To do that though the antenae to recieve the signal from the very low powered transmitter in the box needs to be pointed at it.

I teach English as a foreign language. However, I've recently taken on a new role in which I am the farang-face of my company's corporate sales team. I'm the one who delivers a presentation, in English, to multinational companies' HR departments, pimping our English language training services. On my recent trip back to the USA, when asked what I was doing in SE Asia, I told people I was in corporate training sales. I made no mention of being an English teacher.
I got better reactions than I would have had I just said I was an English teacher. I think there's a feeling in the wider world that if you're a teacher in this part of the world, you're just a backpacker who's found a way to pay for his travel. What'd you do get qualified for your job? You just happen to be born a native English speaker. Whoopdeedoo.
I spent 20 years in sales before I moved to Asia. It's weird to find that the dubious profession of salesman (professional liar) is actually better received than the historically honored position of teacher..

Other than that I have no idea. Possibly being a busy regional airport they wanted it released above any traffic?

No wonder you had to leave perfectly good aircraft. slash.dotat.org/atmos/info.htmlwww.naturespic.com/i/33679DM00_w.jpg

There are a number of teachers now drinking in the Crossbar.
They all have appropriate degrees from the UK and teach in International schools earning top dollar.
The face of this is changing in Bangkok!
