I started up a vlog mainly based here in Bangkok. I had a decent photography channel going while living in the states, but that audience is very conservative believe it or not. It has been a little tough judging an audience which does not exist yet  what do they like, and which videos are bad and which better? haha. I would appreciate any tips. I have decided recently to just go with it more and have fun, and forget the rest. It seems while on camera even trying to be yourself is a science though, go figure that one. My tips, be yourself, let your personality sell the vids, check out the vids by Joko and Wazza.
Please, no more temples, shopping centres and markets.
Heres a tip, do a vid about the "gated communities", an insight into how the middle class in Bangkok live (I know, I live in one).

My tips, be yourself, let your personality sell the vids, check out the vids by Joko and Wazza. Please, no more temples, shopping centres and markets. Heres a tip, do a vid about the "gated communities", an insight into how the middle class in Bangkok live (I know, I live in one). Thank you! |

I just watched a couple of your vids and subscribed but I am finding them a little painful to watch.
I can't put my finger on it just yet.
Mind you, I find watching 99% of vlogging vids painful.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree to a large extent. The vids need to be more interesting. The difficult part for me is I have made more in depth videos in the past (I produce photography video courses), and the time it takes to make something good is so great when you know 20 people are going to watch it. I think mainly i need to change my persona or personality somehow though, i get bored if i watch them too. |

It's not you, it's me. I actually dislike nearly everyone. You vids are much better than a lot out there. I am totally with you. I do not like many vlogs either. I find they either try too hard and do the fake excitement thing which really rubs me the wrong way, or it is boring  . And, many of the very popular guys are just so pretentious it almost is embarrasing sometimes. Anyway, I feel ya. It is a tough racket. |

Hey in the meantime keep posting your videos here for some honest feedback.
Wassa has some sort of a vloggers thing where he and Kevin and others join up and do stuff together. There is a thread somewhere if I could be bothered looking for it.
What Joko and Wassa do is draw you in like a soap opera. They keep you waiting and wanting tomorrow's vlog.

Mate, do your own thing, dont be a sheep and follow the usual stupid intro/dorky music, giggling mrs to accompany it.
I dont know what your passions are, heck check out some of these vlogs, people signing up to see nothing more than rice growing upcountry.
I cant be assed, I know there is a market for traditional wooden houses, traditonal house building.
If you are into tattoos, do one on sak yant, and their meanings.
Only problem is, as soon as you discover a hidden gem, every other pikey vlogger is all over it, trying to claim it for themself.

The one thing that I will add is simply, don't be rude
These vloggers are invading someone's space.
Be respectful.
I have seen some of these desperate vlogger kunts step on toes and think nothing of it.

For some of these prix, the vlog is nothing more than a platform for their inflated ego, check out the pattaya expert, ffs, cant even pronounce pattaya properly. Never mind, he is catering to the lowest common denominator, even worse, check out the comments. Give the peasants what they want to hear, let them eat cake. |

Some prick with a vhs cassette camera the size of a suitcase walked in and started filming, security rightly tossed him out. I thought to myself, how you would you feel if some Thai rocked up at a funeral service in your country and started filming. Well said, effin prix the lot of them. |
