Can't see the Phuket scheme or scam being a great hit with tourists. Also what about hotel staff as well as others regarding social distancing and possible quarantine practice's?

I heard that hotel staff remain quarantined also but you can imagine how well that will work, fox and hen house stuff. But what's not to like, a twelve hour charter flight followed by 14 nights in the same hotel room at the very attractive price of 6k per night. And there's no extra charge to have somebody push a six foot long Q tip up your nose every three days, personally It all sounds so appealing I might just sign up for it myself, who wouldn't want to!

I know of people in the UK that told me, as much as we like Thailand, we dont like it that much. This is a married couple with an income of over 100k between them, they told me, its doesnt make economical sense, loss of wages, airfares, blah blah blah. Others have told me, nows the time to buy a new car, put an extension on the house etc etc. Gone are the days of the cheapo 500 quid Emirates return from Manchester and a 30 day visa on arrival.

Funnily enough, I know a Brit that has just sent his mrs back to Thailand, he decided not to come, told me, I have better things to spend my money on, would have cost him about 6k pommie pesos.

I have a tough decision to make too given I have the opportunity to spend the foreseeable future earning more than Doris Blobby per annum or spend three weeks in a pseudo five star dump in Phuket.
Ohh what to do!!

What am I missing here? You've been here for a long time, aren't you on a marriage visa (presumably O), if so, why cannot the visa be extended? I'm on a Non Imm type O based on marriage. I'm below the 40k month, that's why I went to Savannakhet. They don't have a monetary limit. But since March I haven't done a border hop. UbonJoe over in TVF says I should be able to get a 60 day extension based on my last entry though. So Sopha says she'll give them a call tomorrow. I hate that <c**t> with a passion. Ok, moving along...

Anyone give the reason for 21 days in Phuket rather than the WHO recommendation of 14 days?
