Yes I am well aware the Thai public has been sold the foreigner dirty tale....now the government have a stupid job trying to convince them otherwise....hilarious were the Thai government anything but a ridiculous military dictatorship. Still considering whether to undertake quarantine versus earning six figures over the next year.....hmmmm? Oh that's sterling for what its worth. What's to decide, earning six figures for a few years is one of those once in a lifetime opportunities that must be seized upon with great gusto....just do it, don't think about it, he who hesitates and all that. I remember very well the last piece of work I did, the one that allowed me to retire at age 52. I had just finished a six month stint in Hong Kong and was walking through the airport on my way to the London flight, relieved at being able to finally get back home. My phone rang and the caller asked me if I would do a one year stint in HK for high five figures and without hesitation I said no, the call ended and I climbed aboard the BA010. Two days later they called me back and offered a package worth slightly below mid six figures and I said yes.....I suppose their first offer had to be tried otherwise they would never know. Thirteen months later I was pretty much a basket case but still alive and functioning and when I flew out of HK for the last time I was basking in the knowledge that from that point on my time was all my own, for the rest of my life, it's a feeling that can't be beat and is well worth the sacrifice. Seen it all before, Thailand isnt going anywhere, but Johnny Farang couldnt wait to get his ass over here. Johnny Farang who retired here at 60 and spunked his money away, is now back in the heat of the middle east, and thankful he has a job at age 67. BA 010, , wasnt that codeshared at one time with QF002? or what that BA 009? It aint how much you earn, its what you do with it, personally I subscribe to Fletchs biscuit tin under the bed school of investing in these covid times. Thanks for the laffs CM, been there done that.

oldie,
Just wait till the grandchildren arrive they are a joy beyond belief I assure you.
I love all kids. I work with kids even now as I hated retirement, I get home from the office and it's off with the directors suit into the shower shorts and shirts on after toweling down and we're all away to the village compound park. Forty fives the seventy fives, I find it very odd being told I'm old.
No isolation here mate...

Get him to 5, get him to 10, get him to 15,...20. Best advice I've ever heard. I told him and the Mrs last week, if I don't die 30 years before both of you I'll be p**sed. That is how it should work mathematically.

I could tell you a few stories about my experiences on these flights late '70's, but it's almost 4am, I'm just in from work, and off to bed.

Sopha has sold the land. So see if Ranong immigration continues to be unhelpful.

Thanks, done them both ways, LHR>BKK>SYD, the ozzies thinking they were going to beat Merv the swerves record, I breathed a sigh of relief as I got off the plane in Bkk, the plane looked like a scene from Beirut.

Happened only once but was very nice

Asked me if i was busy in the afternoon and could i get a few hours off, no problem said i. Wasnt a flight as such, more of an air test/engine test, flight shakedown, probably one of the few to have sat in the seat wearing stinking smelly overalls. , the good old days. www.bbc.com/future/article/20200615-the-record-breaking-jet-which-still-haunts-a-countryen.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAC_TSR-2

Saw that take off right in front of me once....a glorious experience from the plane right behind on the runway.
