I "mentor," a few Thai students here in Glasgow. The mentoring extends to local advice, setting up bank accounts etc, and reading through their course work. By way of thanks, they are coming to my place on Saturday night to prepare a Thai dinner.
Cuisine will be Thai Southern ( provided by a young lady from Trang ) - the foods of BKK ( several students from that city ) - and Thai Northern food ( ThaiGuyInGlasgow as well as another couple of Thai Northern ladies ).
So what should be on the menu?

That depends on what ingredients are available. Kaffir lime leaves, Vietnamese basil, straw mushrooms and galangal can you get those easily there? Sounds good, do a pic thread.

They were telling me that there's a Thai supermarket here in Glasgow - I think they are going tomorrow. I'll defo post photos of the food. I'm looking forward to the evening - lovely people.

Kaffir lime leaves here you can't easily get, I bought a tree in Canton ( smuggled it in) and grew my own as that's essential in a lot of dishes substitutes are inferior. Lemongrass I grow as well as the small blow your head off chilies. There are Thai supermarkets a few but as everything is flown in it depends on availability.

Not on the menu, however I suggest you get the fridge stocked up with toilet paper, and pop a few imodium.
Tomorrow your ring piece will be in tatters.
Dont really know of any Bkk food, it can be split into three areas, Northern (Chinese influnces), Issan (no comment required, disgusting stuff) and Southern (Indian/Arabic influneces).
Enjoy.

The way your mind works I will add that hemorrhoid cream rubbed under the eyes the next day reduces puffiness after a heavy night of drinking Leo. Sothern Thai cuisine is very nice indeed.

^^^ as one who had his, rit see duang (Farmer Giles) chopped years ago, I can recommend Preparation H. If you want a cheap cure, go barfine a ladyboy top, she will soon shaft your farmers back to where they belong,
