The problems originate in both the PI and Indonesia.
Both have ousted dictators and its like deja vu all over again.
The PI is a bloody disgrace now being run by a dynasty.
The sad fact is, these people would probably have been better off under communisim.

Folks are looking for work . The helper , slave system is dispicable. My family always employed a maid and cook. I don't see anything despicable about it. Everyone I know has a maid here in Thailand. It helps the Philippine people stay in Thailand and god knows they don't want to live in their own country. |

(second hand information about one person is not really proof of widespread abuse is it?) If you go to work in a communist country with no rule of law what would one expect? It's not like the Philippine people don't know how to use facebook to tell people back home what's happening. If you don't like the work don't go. |

Much better article. I don't know it exists as the last time I was in Hong Kong was with Bill Holden and we met a chick named Suzy. All the maids I know in Thailand and the States are treated like family so I have no experience with the ladies in the story. |
