Yup - just my luck I've been struggling on and off for five weeks - seemingly recovering than off goes the fever again. Turns out I have a virus that's affecting my kidneys and liver.

Havent been indulging in that pla ra muck in Issan have you, or the som tam with the small black crabs in it?

Cleaners not spraying your bed with deet?
Haven't blood tests confirmed yet? 5 weeks mate, seek some answers.

Cleaners don't use deet - I make a point of being in my room when they are due and watch them clean. I'm on yet another course of ant-bios. If need be I'll go into a hospital in HK for further tests or I'll curtail the trip and fly home. |

You wouldnt believe what lies in the ducts etc of some of these a/c systems. |

Agree with rgs, and the HK smog is horrid at this time of year going into Spring. Kidneys and liver though what kind of virus causes that?

As the doctor at a hospital in Praram 9 told me, we aint gods. By the sound of it I would forget HongKong this time.... Why not fly back to the UK annd recover there. You can always come back here. Problem with leaving that kind olf infection go is that no one will let you fly back. THough a US airline or code number cannot refuse unless you are infectious....long way home that way though. |

Don't let this go any further blether, 5 weeks? You could end up with irrepairable kidney and liver damage, even organ failure, go to the hospital and get it sorted.
