Well, been banned again. They really do love Obama over there . That Umbuku guy brings shame to Australians for being a dullard of the first degree. I guess he could get a second job being a rock or a tree as an extra in a film if the TEFLing dries up. Curriculum development for those tossers is adding a few extra flashcards each term. It stopped being a teaching forum ions before my time. The attitude of teachers over the border here in Myanmar is quite refreshing- both locals and expats. A lot of misery over there, no doubt. A positive mental attitude is needed in teaching; plus a decent curriculum. We use PYP here- quite bit of work but it makes so much sense compared to the Thai guff

A fortune teller. There are TEFLER types and then there are TEFLER types. Some brag all over the boards how they are making 90k/month, heck I was earning that close to twenty years ago, then you have the nonces that scratch out a meager living supporting a bunch of hammock swingers, some in it for the passion of teaching some well respected folks in it because they are good at what they do and love it. Ajarn is a screwed up as it gets. Who is earning more than whom, who has a better deal, who knows everything there is to know about education.....

^^^, , please excuse me while I pick myslef up off the floor. Over elsewhere there is some poor deluded soul telling stories about how he earns 100,000 baht per month in the ME. Sorry , if you were a proper teacher on a proper contract, you would be earning at least 4 times that amount. Bless them.

You are all gentlemen and genuine folks. I've never posted anywhere this good, supporting and nurturing. I'm an idiot at times too, the friends here pull you up and are themselves no effing loons. There is nobody here I would not buy a beer or three for. Enough said. Last time I checked I didn't have a ballsack. Glad to see this thread keeps going.... . I still haven't went back to Ajarn. Proud of myself for sticking to my guns. Gets dull hearing the same five or so talking and boosting each other's egos. .

^ The only thing I can think of is perhaps saving potential? It really does sound like a miserable gig unless you go to Oman or Dubai IMO. My choices after leaving Thailand were:
1. Some very suspect sounding school in Jeddah- the recent reviews put me off as did the local culture to be totally blunt. 2. A small language school in Hong Kong- a great city, just not on that salary. 3. Myanmar- after finding favorable recent reviews it was an easy choice for me. Lifestyle, culture, food, salary, climate and a grade level that I want to teach were all agreeable.
Meanwhile on Ajarn one of the mods is claiming the latest bomb blast are 'understandable'.

@ all the people whining about people boasting about income who then go on to boast about their income in the same sentence.

I find it shocking.
Best regards, Tony the fricken Tiger, currently earning 723 Thai Baht a week (all in 25 Satang Coins) and 6 x 7-11 peado bear stamps.

Yeah poo, almost as hilarious as the pothead with the fake degree in a fit of 'Look at me I'm raking it in in Thailand', posting up pics on Ajarn of his Prego Mansion, his new car but forgetting to mention his businesswoman wife is the bread winner. What about the pics of himself in the pool with 8bollocks and Thai 'ladies'. I didn't post those, jd did and got whacked for it but there you go.

Prego Mansion And Poo, salary is sort of important when living overseas- no benefits, pension etc to fall back on if you are on a local contract more often than not.
