The sinking of MS Estonia 28 september 1994.She had 989 aboard of which 852 died, 501 of them where swedes. I remember that sinking, a staggering loss. I also remember the crude jokes that circulated at the time about the disaster. Utterly vile. |

The demise of the Dukes Head Public house Gorleston high street 2005,was a fine boozer was that. Gorleston in winter is hell...give me Southwold any time. |

Gorleston in summer is hell, in fact it is purgatory, the gate to hell any time of year. Alas my first wife had to teach there. Perhaps that was why we divorced.

On the plus side, the head of her school did rent us his beautiful cottage at Reedham.

Do not remember the name of the school, but true.Also as Tony has remarked, she too was a trainee teacher in Birmingham, in his neck of the woods.
I dropped out from Birmingham University; fashionable thing to do at the time. I went to UEA, my wife was qualified and then taught in Gorleston. We lived in Reedham.
Her name, Mrs Buhi.
Ex Mrs Buhi now.

She now lives in Perth, Australia, but not married to an auctioneer, song, Waterboys, in fact she has been married more times than I, five times I think.
