Delicious these things are. 10 dollars for the box though is a bit cheeky, but still, delicious!

Funny you mention that, we too pass them onto relatives we can't be assed with putting thought into their presents at Xmas time. They're only found here at Xmas time and I saw them and thought I've give them a try. Good with coffee still. Ps, Hippity ain't makin no shortbread neither.

When I was a young laddie the bakery used to make sure the shortbread was ready just as we got out of school for lunch....the smell would waft out of the door. After polishing off our bag of chips we'd pop in and buy three pieces for 10p....crispy on the outside a bit gooey in the middle and sugar all over your blazer. Great fun!

The other chip option was Cadman's cafe...in those days you needed night vision goggles to see the serving counter as it was full of steaming tea, chainsmoking old women and fat from the open pans.
Its still there now but sadly sanitized.
