I bought one of these the other day. It's brilliant, I dread to think of all the time I have wasted messing about with pots and pans. 15 mins to slice up some meat and veggies, lobbed it in there, poured in 600ml of beef stock (i.e. a red OXO cube in a bit of water) set it to low and then ignored it for 8 hours. Wasn't sure if I should post this in this thread or the 'what did I do all day'one. But as the answer to that was, chop, wait, eat... it's probably better here.

Where can I get one and what's the cost? Pics of the end result too!!

It's the 3.5 Lit model and cost a massive 750 Baht. I bought it from a small local electrical shop, it's a Made-In-Thailand thing so should be widely available.
Big C carry the 1.5 Lit for 399 Baht, but that wasn't large enough for me.
I didn't brown the meat first, but I will try that next time to see if it makes a difference, some cooking websites recommend fry in a pan first for a couple of minutes, I just lobbed it in the pot and left it set on 'Low' for eight hours.

P.S. An hour ago I managed to get some raw beef kidney fat, so tomorrows job is to render that down slowly to make suet, and then on Sunday I'll be making suet puddings (steak) I'll take some pictures of that process.

I have a small one from BigC that I bought years ago for less than 1,00 baht but not that brand. I can make enough decent panang or masaman curry for 2 meals. It makes a good stew as well. I quickly sear the meat in a wok, chuck 250 ml of coconut milk, garlic, onion, potatoes, carrot etc into the slow cooker along with whatever meat I am using. Top it up with water, switch it to auto and come back a couple of hours or so later and it is done. If the soupy bit is too thin mix a bit of cornflour into a paste, add to the mix and instant thickener. It looks good, tastes good and by golly it does you good.

Thanks for reminding me Bild.
I made another stew over the weekend, this time I seared the meat in a wok first, the result was much better (for me) as the soup remained clear and thin, that's the way I like it.
Had one last night, it was very tasty and visually pleasing. Seven portions left residing in the freezer, I boil up a single serving of potatoes in a separate pan to the point were they are just about to fall, add them to a defrosted stew and microwave for about four minutes, bliss.
