Southie's taking the mick of the chiang mai brigade, his turn will come. There's a redeveloped area down town, just off Night Bazzar, just up from Boots and Bata. It's a night time entertainment area run by Chiang who owns all the land around there but it's pretty good - plenty of up market food stalls with lots of variety, Chiang Beer sold every where and live music, I can highly recommend as a meet up eat, drink relax place. Caveat - it's a bit more pricey than the regular food stalls in that area, somewhere in between a food court and regular restaurant prices/ WTF is this Southie kant ? Sorry, from now on it'll always be, Mr Peel RN, sir.

Will we meet in Big C Foodcourt? Funny enough I was in there at lunchtme, as had to pick up some stuff from Homepro so decided to grad a quick meal. Sure enough in the corner by the beer station were a couple of Deathpats, sipping on their Chang. Me and my mate were just laughing at why anyone would come to Big C for a few beersIts called living the dream, you can read about it online elsewhere. Funnily enough, I dont know of any foodcourts selling towers in Bkk. Heck even Tramp Central on Pattaya Klang doesnt sell them. Was in there last week, they buy it upstairs in Big C and come down to the foodcourt, they come prepared with bottle opener and plastic beaker, living the dream, knocking back warm Archa in the foodcourt, 3 bottles and up the road to sleep it off in some fan room that costs them 3,000 baht per month. If you want hardcore, head to Mikes and check out the tramps on the promenade, drink big Changs with a straw bought from 7 across the road.

Nope, it's all still there - Elvis shows up from time to time, as he would! That's an area that's popular with older expats since there's lots of inexpensive accommodation nearby plus it's close to town and right next to the hospital - the Uni. crowd go to Maya Mall just up the road, much more up market, Gad Suan Gow has become cheap charlie central, free zimmer frame parking et al It seemed like Deathpat central to be honest, and there appears to be certain demographic of The Chang tower slurping foreigner in food courts. I can't recall every having a beer in a food court. Now foe me is the big decision on where to eat tonight after work, that must be infuriating for the cheap charlies. RGS i always remember your quote years back about seeing the desperate, hungry eyes of cheap charliies looking through the widow outside as you tucked into a meal at Tony Romas, <ducking> priceless Thanks for the laugh Mr T,the memories come flooding back, wasnt that about the same time "windowlicker" was added to the list of banned words?

I have only been to CM a few times. Twice in 1986 and again in 2006. So statistically my next visit will be in 2026. CM used to be good years ago, then it was discovered by skint Yanks that couldnt afford Obamacare and the retire overseas and live on 30,000 baht per month losers. The Pai hippy types soon followed. Then came the purple haired vegan p**s drinkers and sex therapist types. I dare say you will be there before me, not mentioned the songkran tossers.

Well we went our for dinner last night, no chang towers, bill was 6000 something baht, those food court gypo's would be frothing at the mouth at that, its probaly a whole months dining out budget. I have a meet up in a week or so with ATF so that will be a proper budget busting dinner
