From January 2019 the British and Canadian embassies will no longer be issuing the pension visa letters. No doubt the other western countries will follow suit hopefully.
This will as I take it mean if you don't have the 800k in your bank account, or the 65k monthly income , you'll be getting the ass out of Thailand! Deported promptly.
No more 'borrowing' and the putting back the cash.
All the pensioners must be shitting themselves!

Seems as if you are gloating at the situation, why would that be?
Thoughts?
You come across as a spiteful vindictive creature who delights in seeing others having extra worry on their shoulders. Being paragon of virtue must be a heavy load for you to carry.

I think Thailand is full of lowlife on the run scumbags who deserved to be given the flick. Its about time this happened . 1 month to be deported is 3 weeks 6 days too long. Can't wait to see them at Swampy , wondering what went wrong  . Bought a house , wifes name , car , the whole scoop. All goooone. . Enjoy back in ol blighty. Don't forget to buy tracky dacks before they leave cause they'll be needing them. Parties over haha. |

beekk definition.
Someone who acts like they own the place and that the whole world revolves around them. They look after number one, and everyone else is low on the priority list. If you know the creature well, often even just their presence can make you feel nauseated and it often has the indelicate effluvia of something you've had the misfortune to have stepped on.

So what do the embassy do these days? They seem to have shirked off the vast majority of duties that would would expect an embassy to offer. Lazy would be the best description I can think of for them!

The Thai authorities here are''requesting'' A/C details, branch,address, A/C numbers and name I D ,tax details etc.
What a wonderful way to gain access to your bank details, hence the decision made by both the U K and Canadian governments regarding the Thai governments requests. However Sed, your comments regarding embassy inaction are in many ways true.

The requirement each year is to show 800k Baht in your account....its hardly a huge sum for anyone who has worked and crucially saved even a little each year of that working life.
Its what the Thai government feels you need to support yourself adequately during that year....anyone who can't afford that simply should be on the plane imho.
