Asked about traveling in the winter, none of the locals recommend it- you can get stuck for days in snow. With that in mind, my travel plans in this amazing country are delayed until the thaw in April. Decided to give in and book a flight to BKK with MIAT, I'll be turning left as I cannot handle over 6 hours with someone almost in my lap- and it's never a fine nomad lass,is it? Around 1200 quid- the upgrade difference was 150 quid, I don't really understand their price structure, seems odd. onemileatatime.com/miat-mongolian-business-class-767-review/Get those Leos in the fridge!

Granted, but the toxic nature of the air cannot be understated here. Those that can afford to get to a warmer clime for a bit do- most flights are booked out already, I was lucky to get a seat for this price- leave it a few more weeks and it would be over 2000USD. Of course, I could book a flight onto Laos or something- was there 9 years ago, would be interesting to see the change.
Travel in Mongolia is best done slow, it can take days to offroad travel and then by horse to reach some of the most interesting places, I would rather save it for early summer. Been invited to go Marmot hunting in June

^ We actually have a meeting tomorrow about what to do in the event of an infectious disease outbreak. We have plague here, it is carried by marmots. I bet The Duck would spit feathers if I started a thread about rabid, plague ridden marmots
