None where I live in Bangkok. None where I work. See some in BTS/BRT especially around SalaDaeng Station somehow, but seldom before 10AM when I'm on my way  |

Western style pubs generally depend on the drinkers or the staff as to whether you would be likely to go back. Hanrahans seems popular but it is just a passing trade place, a room full of strangers. In this genre I sometimes go in the Black Swan, get a bit of crack there on occasion. Chequers to me never quite makes it, which is a pity. I find the staff chatty and friendly in the Bus Stop bar. Now I think of it not much grabs me in bkk anymore. The FCC would be ok if it had a few customers, very nice place but. I like a little jap eating and drinking house in Thonglor and that is about it. The new Black Swan is just too narrow unfortunately and has none of the charm of the old place. The world still gets put to rights in the Crossbar from time to time however....hic! I remember drinking in a bar with you round the corner from the Crossbar and getting caught out by 2 tourists, Gay or Russian?  |

Where is this FCC? Never knew about that place. Foreign Correspondents Club, bar/resto on P (Panorama or Penthouse? Never sure, in big office bldg by Chidlom BTS. |

I think I've only been in the FCC once. 15 or more years ago when the NTTC (Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce) had the NewYear drink there. Nowadays company has offices in U Chu Liang on RamaIV. Opposite Lumpini Park. Can I invite you to a park bench with a bottle in brown bag watching all those fools jogging along? |
