Ok total cost has been added up by the mrs. House comes in at 817000 baht.
No front fence but who cares. Still to finish 2 inside bathrooms. Still to paint the outside. Haven't done a few other minor things like stone the verandah posts.
None of those I really care about too much. 1 day it'll happen.
So thats a 300+sq metre house with everything upgraded like 100mm slab , bigger concrete posts , nice 600x600 tiles , thicker roof sheets ,kitchen with everything plus 2 air conditioners.
Worked out cheap and enough spent out in the village that time forgot.

Looks to a very pleasant residence there hippity, as a matter of interest though was the ground already yours or the wife's or is it, was it extra on house price ? 1: No front fence but who cares. 2: Still to finish 2 inside bathrooms. 3: Still to paint the outside. 5: Haven't done a few other minor things like stone the verandah posts. No front fence no big deal, our Surin house has a fence but most folk duck through it or over it, bathrooms not a big issue, outside paint, well let the external finish dry by 100% any cracks etc can soon be made good. Stoning the verandah posts!!!!! Surely you are not a Muslim and surely you're not going to practice stoning the veranda post as a trial run for stoning the devil at Mecca in the future are you ?

Wife paid 3k for the land. Apparently according to her old man its around 200k now. Back of the village and a decent view. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Just need an Aussie flag flying out front and my name on the front gate now. Seems to be what other farang like doing . Maybe it helps the postman find his house , I'm not sure. Personally as comfortable as it is , I can't wait to get the eff outta here.

PS I have an Ozzy flag I can give you.

Even the internet works great these days. But ffs , it does my head in. If this is the "real " Thailand, it's shit.

^^^^ so true, I know Somchais and Somchaiesses, who have been in Bkk so long they now refuse point blank to ever go up that way again.
Was talking to a Thai mate the other day, in the next week he is going to survey a 19 rai plot in Prachinburi, for sale at 200k per rai, another farang dream gone wrong.
I sit at the local "sorry shop" its almost like a Dutch auction, being offered land all over Thailand, no thank you.
Still p**sed off with that twat in Chan and his useless family, here they are 5 years later and land still hasnt been sold, and each they they go further and further into debt. I refuse to buy it on principal, eff them.

^^thats a long stretch. I could do it but not without taking off to go somewhere every week. It's been less than 2 weeks for me and I'm over it. 3 days in Laos were good though to break the boredom.
