Apparently your body begins to go numb from your extremities ( hands and feet) inwardly creeping whilst you are fully conscious. Horrible way to die. A little like watching a Thai Drama on TV then

Have you tried kangaroo and emu <Fantasy boy>? Some people really have hang ups about eating our national emblem. Roo in red wine is a great dish, they sell kangaroo meat here too but the Cantonese who will eat anything that has legs shy away from kangaroo because 'They're so cute and you eat them?' They're a bladdy pest in Oz.
Emu prepared the right way is not too bad as is ostrich. Overcook it though and it becomes tough.

I struggle with most foods in Issan. Even walking through the markets in spots makes me gag. Probably easier to say the meats I will eat than not eat. Chicken, beef, some pork, seafood, lamb. That's about it for animals.
Brussel sprouts are my favorite vegetable but love all vegetables.

Pla Raa. Mum in law produces it. We get ''food parcels'' of it sent to us,the missus puts the stuff down the toilet, even our dog which eats anythings turns her nose up at Pla Raa. God it is a foul concoction. Should in my view have its own U.N. Hazichem code and health warning. The ideal conduit for passing on the delights of liver fluke which has only one result DEATH if one become infected or infested with the liver flukes.

Actually I did and I also ate some croc when I was up the cape, there was a burger bar at the top and he did a great croc burger, amoungst other things. Not sure if that's still there. I wouldn't eat roo again, although it was done very nicely. I eat most things, I'm not fussy. Bit like when I was a lad, I use to shag just about anything that moved and itpf it didn't move, I'd push it, then shag it. That's why my father expelled me from LOS when I was 12 & sent me to boarding school overseas, kept me out of the lady bars. 55555555. I know you wouldn't pick it, but I was a little bit naughty when I was younger. Crocodile is very nice. When I worked in Brunei many locals and migrant workers were taken and killed by crocs but as it is a Muslim nation they would not eat crocodiles, go over the border to Miri in Malaysia and lo and behold a crocodile farm and plenty of restaurants serving it up. Croc is nice macerated in lime juice overnight, how I like to eat it. * Point: you shagged everything that moved and didn't move? Are you into....necrophilia? 555

I can eat most things without concern but for some strange reason bread n butter pudding makes me barf. I'm not keen on custard either (unless it's in a vanilla slice).

It's fermented fish. In markets it's stored in big open barrels. It looks like mud and the smell is intense. Kind of makes fish sauce smell tame.

Lamb is a bit smelly. But I don't mind the occassion lamb chop on the BBQ. Agree. Charcoal bbq it's good but roast leg of lamb smells. Same way I feel about pork.

You used to hang around morgues <Fantasy boy>? Interesting hobby. I went out with a med student back in my uni days, we watched autopsies together. ( on video as part of his studies) I kid you not.

Generally speaking for myself, I asses the desire to eat something on taste, smell and appearance..... which is a roundabout way of saying that if it still has its head on, I will not go near it. But the one thing I seriously avoid is eggs, just the smell of a fried egg will make me projectile vomit. Wow. I cannot live without eggs. Let me explain ND. When I was a kid, I had a problem with my throat, a known medical condition, anything I tried to swallow that had a certain consistency, instantly hit the puke button. I was the only kid in the street that couldn't eat jelly and iced-cream! I could quite happily sit down and munch on a raw carrot, but dice one and boil it up, vomit time. It is now completely psychosomatic of course, and I have no aversion to trying new food experiences (even Pla Ra, but that was just disgusting) I have tried stuff that would have my UK friends running for the hills.... but stuff from my younger days, things that I knew would be a bad experience for me and everyone else sitting at the table, I still avoid. Top of the list is eggs, no matter what you do with them (apart from make a cake, but I do have to get someone else to do that)

Bacon, pork chops, crispy pork rind. One thing about working in a Muslin nation is pork was prohibited, love the stuff, can't go without bacon or ham and substitutes just aren't the real deal. Turkey pastrami instead of ham on Hawaiian pizza ugh.
